Former Edo State governor and senator, Adams Oshiomhole, has dismissed a widely circulated video appearing to show him massaging a woman’s feet aboard a private jet, describing it as “a fabrication created using artificial intelligence (AI).”
The controversial clip, which emerged on social media on Tuesday, shows a man resembling Oshiomhole engaging in a lighthearted conversation with a woman while seemingly massaging her feet on his lap.
The woman in the video was initially misidentified as Lara Fortes, the wife of the senator representing Edo North. However, reports later confirmed that she is Leshaan Dagama, a South African lifestyle influencer and adult content creator.
Some reports also claimed that Dagama had originally shared the video on her TikTok account before deleting it shortly afterward.
The video quickly sparked outrage on social media, with many Nigerians condemning the alleged conduct, especially amid the country’s ongoing economic challenges. Some also referenced Oshiomhole’s recent controversial remark that certain citizens were complaining “that food prices are becoming too cheap,” using the video to mock him.
In response, Oshiomhole’s media aide, Oseni Momodu, released a statement rejecting the video’s authenticity.

The aide described it as a “poorly crafted AI-generated video,” insisting it does not depict a real event. He criticised the circulation of the footage on online platforms, calling it “cyberbullying” and claiming measures were being taken to identify those responsible for creating and publishing it.
The statement further urged the public to verify content before sharing allegations against public officials.
Dagama also addressed the controversy on her Instagram story, redirecting the public’s anger toward the senator. “Your senator is the problem. Go be mad at him not me,” she wrote.
The incident highlights the growing concern over AI-manipulated content and its impact on public perception, particularly involving prominent figures.
