Nollywood actress Omotunde Apinke Ogundimu has appealed to Nigerians for financial assistance after revealing that she is battling cervical cancer.
Speaking in an interview with actress Biola Bayo, Ogundimu disclosed that she was diagnosed with the disease after undergoing medical tests, describing the pain as overwhelming.
The actress said she has struggled to come to terms with the diagnosis, adding that she never imagined she would face such a health challenge.
“The pain is too severe. I did these tests, and I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. Why did it happen to me? I am very easy-going.”
Ogundimu explained that although some people have supported her after she reached out for help, her children have carried the greatest burden by spending their earnings on her treatment while putting aside their own personal needs.
She said she remains grateful for their sacrifices.
“I have reached out to people, and they have helped me. My children have been spending all their income on me, neglecting their own needs. For them to put their own lives on hold to take care of me. But I thank God for blessing me with them.”
The actress admitted that asking the public for assistance was not an easy decision, but she felt she had no other option despite fears that some people might criticise her.

Ogundimu pleaded with Nigerians to support her as she continues treatment, expressing hope that she can recover from the illness.
“I want to be fine. I want to be healed. The pain is severe. I don’t pray for my enemies to have cancer. Please, have mercy on me. Please, I have nobody.”
