The pupils and teachers who were abducted in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State have been released by their captors.
The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the development in a post shared on his verified X account on Friday.

Announcing the news, Onanuga wrote: “Finally, the kidnapped pupils and teachers in Orire, Oyo have been freed by their abductors.”
Authorities have yet to provide details on how the victims secured their freedom, and it remains unclear whether any ransom was paid or what led to their release.
