Actress Joke Silva has acknowledged the love and support extended to her family by Nigerians following the death and burial of her husband, Olu Jacobs.

She conveyed the appreciation in an Instagram statement on Saturday, October 31, 2026, as the family brought its 40-day mourning period to a close.

In the message written on behalf of the Jacobs family, Silva recognised friends, colleagues, fans and other well-wishers who reached out during the difficult period.

She said their prayers, visits, phone calls, messages, gifts and financial donations towards the funeral had provided the family with comfort and support.

“The 40 days have come and gone, and as we reflect on this period, my family and I would like to express our deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to you all for standing by us following the passing of my beloved husband, Pa Olu Jacobs.”

Silva further acknowledged the generosity shown to them, saying the gestures meant more than the family could adequately express.

“Your prayers, kind words, presence, calls, messages, thoughtful gifts, and generous contributions towards his funeral have meant more to us than words can adequately express.”

She also commended those who celebrated Jacobs’ life and legacy, as well as those who stood with the family during their final farewell to the actor.

“Thank you for honouring his life, celebrating his legacy, and standing with our family as we said our final farewell to a beloved husband, father, grandfather, colleague and friend,” she said.

The actress concluded by praying for everyone who supported them, asking God to bless their families, replenish their contributions and continue to strengthen them.

“May God bless you and your families abundantly, replenish all that you have given, and continue to strengthen us all.”

Jacobs died on September 16, 2026, at the age of 84. His son, Olusoji Jacobs, made the announcement in a post on Instagram.

The veteran actor, popularly called the “Lion of Lufodo”, was buried in Lagos on October 2. His funeral activities included a Night of Tributes at Glover Memorial Hall on September 30 and a service at This Present House, Lekki.
