90 YEARS OF WISDOM, SERVICE, IMPACT AND ENDURING LEGACY
The Planning Committee for the 90th birthday celebration of the distinguished elder statesman and Lagos notable, Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi, OON, has announced a series of activities to commemorate this remarkable milestone.
With gratitude to Almighty Allah, the Committee invites family, friends, political associates, traditional and community leaders, public servants, business leaders and well-wishers to join in celebrating nine remarkable decades of a life devoted to leadership, service, community development and the advancement of society.
Turning 90 is no ordinary milestone. It is a moment to pause, reflect and give thanks for a life that has traversed generations and witnessed some of the most significant chapters in the evolution of Lagos and Nigeria.
For Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi, however, the celebration is about much more than longevity. It is about legacy.
Across nine decades, Prince Olusi has distinguished himself as a man of principle, wisdom, courage and commitment. His journey has been characterised by service to humanity, devotion to community development and a deep appreciation of the values that bind families, communities and society together.
His 90th birthday therefore provides an appropriate occasion not only to celebrate the man, but also to reflect on the enduring values which his life exemplifies – leadership without arrogance, influence with responsibility, service without self-interest and success measured by the positive impact made on others.
To mark this historic occasion, the Planning Committee has put together a three-day programme of activities designed to celebrate Prince Olusi’s life, intellectual contributions, commitment to education and enduring place in the history of Lagos.
DAY ONE: LEADERSHIP, IDEAS AND THE FUTURE
Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi Annual Leadership Symposium & Educational Fund/Academy Launch
Date: Thursday, 8 October 2026
Venue: Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos
The celebrations will commence with the Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi Annual Leadership Symposium, bringing together eminent intellectuals, scholars, policymakers, political leaders, professionals and thought leaders for a stimulating conversation on leadership and nation-building.
The symposium is intended to promote constructive dialogue on the responsibilities of leadership and the imperative of preparing the next generation to assume positions of responsibility with competence, integrity and vision.
A major highlight will be the official unveiling of the Prince Tajudeen Oluyole Olusi Educational Fund/Academy, an initiative designed to support education, develop talent and create opportunities for future generations.
The educational initiative is particularly significant because it captures an important dimension of Prince Olusi’s philosophy: that the most enduring investment any society can make is an investment in its people, especially its young people.
DAY TWO: A LIFE OF GRATITUDE
Special Prayer and Thanksgiving Service
Date: Friday, 9 October 2026
Venue: Lagos Central Mosque, Lagos Island
The second day will be devoted to prayers and thanksgiving at the Lagos Central Mosque, where family members, friends, associates, religious leaders and well-wishers will gather for a special Juma’at service.
The service will offer an opportunity to give thanks to Almighty Allah for the gift of 90 years, the blessings of family and friendship, and the privilege of a life enriched by service and meaningful relationships.
Prayers will also be offered for Prince Olusi’s continued good health, strength, peace and many more years of purposeful and fulfilling life.
DAY THREE: A GRAND CELEBRATION OF A LIFE WELL LIVED
Grand Reception
Date: Tuesday, 13 October 2026
Venue: The Monarch Event Center, Lekki-Epe, Lagos
The three-day celebration will culminate in a grand reception at The Monarch Event Center, bringing together an impressive gathering of family, friends, associates and distinguished guests from across Nigeria and beyond.
It will be an occasion of celebration, reflection and appreciation as guests honour a man whose life has become intertwined with the history, growth and social development of Lagos.
The Planning Committee is particularly honoured by the presence of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as Special Guests of Honour.
The Chief Host is Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, Executive Governor of Lagos State, while the Planning Committee is chaired by Her Excellency, Prince Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire.
The Committee appreciates the distinguished personalities, institutions, family members, friends and associates who have joined in making the celebration of Prince Olusi’s 90th birthday a truly memorable occasion.
