Gospel music minister Nathaniel Bassey has received a surprise Range Rover from Pastor Jerry Eze as he marked his 45th birthday.
Bassey, who celebrated his birthday on Thursday, August 27, shared the news with his followers on Instagram on Friday, revealing that the gift came as an unexpected surprise.
The singer said he had planned to have a simple birthday centred on gratitude to God, unaware that Eze was working behind the scenes with his wife to organise the surprise.
Although Bassey said he normally keeps such personal gestures private, he decided to make this one public because of the thought and generosity behind it.
“Normally I keep things like this private, but not this one. I want to share this. Woke up yesterday just desiring a nice, easy day of gratitude to God. Unknown to me, my brother and friend @realjerryeze had this holy coup ongoing with my wife,” he wrote.
According to Bassey, his wife had suggested a particular vehicle for the birthday gift, but Eze opted for a Range Rover, insisting that his friend deserved something better.
“Of truth, the surpriser had been surprised. Still don’t know how to really express this in words. He insisted on going for the very best when my wife suggested one to get. In his words, ‘My brother can’t drive that,’” he added.
The singer praised Eze for his generosity, saying the clergyman was also preparing similar gifts for other people.
“Pastor Jerry, not only has he done this for me. I know of a couple of others like this he is currently planning. The man gives like his life depends on it,” Bassey stated.
He expressed deep appreciation for the gesture, stressing that his affection for Eze was not dependent on receiving an expensive gift.

“And I’m here to publicly say THANK YOU, PJ (Pastor Jerry) – You know, even if you never do this, I’d still love you the same. Thank you, Sir. Like I told you, I am speechless,” he said.
Bassey further prayed for Eze and his family, asking God to multiply the joy the surprise had brought to his own household.
“May the smile you have put on my face and my family be seen in multiple folds on you and yours, in Jesus’ name,” he added.
He also appealed to his followers to join him in showing appreciation to the clergyman.
“So please, help me thank Him on my behalf. Weary him today with gratitude. Tell him his brother is grateful. Thank you,” he concluded.
Eze is the founder of Streams of Joy International and convener of the online prayer platform NSPPD.
