Paris Saint-Germain will face Barcelona in one of the biggest fixtures of the new UEFA Champions League season after the league-phase draw was conducted at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco on Thursday.
The French champions, who have won the competition in each of the past two seasons, will meet a Barcelona side hoping to return to the summit of European football after last lifting the trophy in 2015.
The fixture renews a rivalry that has produced several memorable Champions League encounters in recent years, with PSG enjoying the better results in their more recent meetings.
Barcelona will also face Manchester City, giving Rodri an immediate reunion with his former club following his move to the Spanish giants. Real Madrid, meanwhile, have been drawn against Arsenal, setting up a return to England for manager Jose Mourinho.
Manchester United will renew their European rivalry with Bayern Munich after returning to the Champions League following a two-season absence. Bayern will also take on Arsenal during the league phase.

The Champions League continues to use its expanded league-phase format, featuring 36 clubs competing in a single standings table.
The top eight teams at the end of the league phase will advance directly to the round of 16. Teams finishing from ninth to 24th will enter a knockout play-off, with the winners taking the remaining eight places in the last 16.
The league phase is scheduled to begin on September 8, with the final round of matches set for January 27 next year.
