A woman identified as the alleged first wife of late Nollywood actor Mr Ibu has spoken publicly following the recent appeal for financial assistance made by his widow, Stella Maris Okafor.
Her reaction comes after Stella, alongside her children, appeared in an interview with influencer King Mitchy, where she described the family’s financial struggles. Stella had claimed they currently rely on well water because she had not been able to pay rent and disclosed that electricity had been disconnected from their residence for about two months.
In a video circulating online, the woman accused Stella of making decisions she claimed negatively affected other members of the family during and after the actor’s illness.
According to her, while Mr Ibu was receiving treatment, Stella allegedly had the actor’s first son and adopted daughter, Jasmine Okafor, arrested over issues linked to donations made by Nigerians.
She further alleged that after the actor’s passing, Stella disposed of properties connected to the late actor.
“Stella Okafor, whom King Mitchy interviewed, is the fifth wife of my late husband, while I am his first wife. When my husband was on his sickbed, Stella had my first son and our adopted daughter arrested because they were in charge of the money Nigerians donated.”
The woman also claimed that a property in Enugu was later sold and alleged there were attempts to dispose of another residence in Lagos after concerns were raised about the condition of the building.
“Even after my husband’s de@th, Stella sold the house in Enugu for about ₦18 million. She also claimed that water was entering Mr Ibu’s house in Lagos, prompting the police to advise us to rent her another house. We did, not knowing she intended to sell the Lagos property as well.”
She went on to allege that funds realised after the burial were mismanaged and suggested that the hardship Stella now described was a consequence of those actions.

“After my husband’s burial, Stella and her group took all the money and went on a spending spree. Now you think karma won’t catch up with you? What you’re experiencing now is only the beginning; the real karma is still coming. Even if people donate millions of naira to you again, you will still come online in the future to beg.”
The allegations have not been independently verified, and Stella Maris has not publicly responded to the claims at the time of this report.
