Emmanuel Odiniya, the father of Ilebaye Odiniya, has publicly addressed the controversy surrounding the alleged assault of the reality TV star.
The development comes days after a disturbing video surfaced online showing Ilebaye emotionally calling for help while displaying visible facial injuries allegedly sustained during an altercation at her father’s residence in Abuja.
Reacting to the backlash, Emmanuel explained that he had supported his daughter throughout her entertainment journey, including during her participation in Big Brother Naija.
According to him, he and his associates stood firmly behind her during both editions of the show, especially when she repeatedly faced possible eviction during the All Stars season.
He, however, alleged that their relationship became strained after her victory, claiming she stopped communicating with him despite his efforts to reconnect.
The father further accused the reality star of neglecting family responsibilities and ignoring his advice about helping less privileged people. He also claimed he disapproved of some of her lifestyle decisions and expressed concerns about her wellbeing.
Speaking on the incident that triggered public outrage, Emmanuel admitted there was a confrontation between them and said emotions escalated during the disagreement.
