The chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Mustapha Adekunle, popularly known as Sego, has endorsed Damilola Ayinde Marshal, daughter of Fuji star Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, for the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The endorsement was captured in a video shared on Damilola’s Snapchat page on Wednesday during what appeared to be a political consultation meeting ahead of the All Progressives Congress primaries.
In the clip, Damilola was seen presenting customised caps to Sego, who openly called on party supporters to rally behind her candidacy for Surulere Constituency II.
“When it is primary election, please come out en masse and vote for Dami, Omo Anifowose. She is the only one who can do it. The progress of our Surulere is our collective responsibility. It is our time,” Sego said.
The endorsement comes amid increasing support for Damilola’s ambition to contest for a seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly under the All Progressives Congress.
The lawyer and Senior Special Assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism had earlier announced her intention to run through a post on Instagram.
“I am excited to share that I, Barr. Damilola Ayinde Marshal, am stepping forward to serve the good people of Surulere Constituency 2 at the Lagos State House of Assembly,” she wrote.

Speaking on her readiness for the role, she said her experience in law and governance has prepared her for effective representation.
“I am a woman of excellence and results. I am ready to serve and lead. With my background, I am fully prepared and ready to fight for what truly matters. I promise to be the voice of the youths in the House,” she added.
Damilola also described herself as part of a younger generation determined to drive development and create opportunities for youths.
“As a young woman, I believe this is exactly what my people need right now, and that is why I decided to step forward,” she stated.
She is seeking to represent Surulere Constituency II and is expected to succeed the current lawmaker, Mosunmola Rotimi Sangodara, who currently holds the seat under the APC.
