Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has appointed Afrobeats superstar Davido as the head of youth mobilisation for the Accord Party campaign council as preparations intensify for the 2026 governorship election.
The music star announced the development via his X account, where he shared his excitement about the role and reaffirmed his support for the governor’s re-election ambition.
“I have been appointed by the Governor of OSUN STATE @AAdeleke_01 and flag bearer of the ACCOD PARTY 01 as HEAD YOUTH MOBILIZATION OF CAMPAIGN COUNCIL! We look forward to a smooth campaign and you RE – election your EXCELLENCY! 4+4,” he posted.
Davido’s involvement in the campaign follows his formal entry into the Accord Party. In December, he disclosed that he had secured his membership card, coming shortly after Adeleke’s defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Since switching parties, the governor has been confirmed as the Accord Party’s candidate for the upcoming gubernatorial poll.
