Veteran Nollywood actor Murphy Ray-Eyiwumi has stated that Nigerians have consistently criticised nearly all presidents who have governed the country, except for two notable leaders.
Speaking in a recent episode of the Talk To To podcast, the actor claimed that public dissatisfaction has followed most administrations, with the exception of former head of state Murtala Muhammed and late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.
He explained that both leaders were in office for relatively short periods, which he believes influenced how they are remembered by Nigerians.
“There is no president that has ruled this country that we have not complained about, except for Muritala, who was killed after six months and Yar’Adua, who died untimely; they are the only ones. Aside from these two, which other presidents have we prayed for in this country? Muritala was killed because he was a military man,” he said.
