Foluke Adeboye, the wife of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has shared how she discarded her gold jewellery as part of her commitment to her Christian faith.
In an interview currently making the rounds online, the cleric recounted how her lifestyle took a drastic turn after becoming born again during the early years of the church.
Speaking on Gold Maker TV, she revealed that she once had a strong passion for fashion and had even purchased gold items for her young son at the time.
“Every woman loves fashion,” she said, reflecting on her earlier lifestyle.
However, she explained that everything changed after her spiritual transformation, noting that wearing earrings and gold was considered unacceptable at the time within the church.
“The moment we were born again then in RCCG, it was a taboo for you to have earrings. So everything, I dropped it in the lagoon,” she said.

Foluke added that her decision surprised some people, including a family acquaintance who questioned why she did not give the jewellery to her mother instead of discarding it.
“I said whatever is not good for me is not good for my mother,” she stated.
Looking back, she expressed no regrets over her actions, saying, “What would I say I miss? Not much.”
