Nollywood actress Victoria Ajibola, widely known as Omo Local, has spoken candidly about the painful events that led to the breakdown of her first marriage.

During a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, the actress recounted how she found out that her husband had impregnated her close friend at a time she was five months pregnant.

Ajibola described the betrayal as devastating, explaining that it was harder to process because the woman involved was someone she trusted deeply.

“When I was married, I was five months pregnant while my friend was also three months pregnant for my husband. I thought it would have been easier for me to endure if he impregnated a stranger. Me and this friend did so many things together and I thought we loved each other,” she said.

“Now imagine hearing that I was five months pregnant while she was three months pregnant for my husband. I said I could not stand a polygamous home because it is not written in the Bible. My husband also did not want to take responsibility for her pregnancy.”

She explained that the situation soon spiralled, especially given her former in-laws’ religious standing. According to her, her father-in-law was a pastor while her mother-in-law was a prophetess who ran a church.

Ajibola alleged that the pregnant friend’s family began issuing threats and allegedly used thugs to intimidate members of the church while demanding that her husband take their daughter as a wife.

“The issue eventually degenerated into a crisis because my father-in-law was a pastor while my mother-in-law was a prophetess and she owned a church. The lady’s family then started using thugs to threaten the church members,” she added.

“They could not help the situation by insisting the lady marries my husband because I said I could not run a polygamous home. The issue got so tense that I even took poison so I could end the whole drama, I had lost hope.

“It was a little child who went to tell my father-in-law and that is how they immediately started administering an anti-poison to keep me alive. I wished I had never heard about it or that the person he impregnated was not someone I knew.”

The actress’ revelation sheds light on the emotional toll the experience took on her, marking one of her most personal disclosures about her past marriage.
