Taiwo Adegbodu, one half of the celebrated Yoruba gospel music duo, Adegbodu Twins, has died, sparking grief across the Christian music community.

The news of his passing was confirmed on Sunday through an announcement shared on the group’s official Facebook page, which is overseen by their management team. The statement described his sudden death as a painful and devastating loss for the family.

Renowned gospel singer Esther Igbekele also verified the sad development via her Instagram page, where she posted a photo of the late musician and paid tribute in Yoruba.

At the time of filing this report, the exact circumstances surrounding Taiwo’s death remain undisclosed.

Taiwo gained widespread recognition alongside his twin brother, Kehinde Adegbodu, following the release of their debut album, Faratimi (Lean on Me), in 1999. The album marked the beginning of a remarkable journey that established the duo as major voices in Yoruba gospel music.
