Veteran Fuji musician Saheed Osupa has spoken out against a prophecy predicting his death, which was recently made by a Nigerian cleric.

The controversy followed claims by a self-styled Muslim cleric, popularly known as Alpha Olopa Meta, who allegedly stated that the singer would die on January 10, 2026. The cleric reportedly said he had pleaded with God on Osupa’s behalf and advised the Fuji star to buy a large ram for prayers.

Osupa addressed the prophecy during a live performance on Sunday, January 11, 2026, strongly rejecting the claim and warning those making such pronouncements.

“Fake Alpha and prophet please don’t wish me dead. Everyone who wishes me dead will die in my place,” the musician said.

He went further to caution perceived enemies against speaking ill of him.

“Close enemies, unknown enemies, enemies of my career and the ones in my neighborhood, better don’t wish me dead, or you would die before me,” Osupa added.

The singer’s reaction has since sparked conversations online, with many fans condemning the prophecy and expressing support for the Fuji legend.
