The drama unfolding in the Senate has taken another twist as Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has issued a stern warning to Unoma Akpabio, wife of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, telling her to steer clear of the sexual harassment allegations leveled against her husband.

In a letter dated March 1, 2025, and addressed to Mrs. Akpabio through her lawyer, Victor Giwa, Natasha made it clear that the allegations are personal to the Senate President, and he should be the one to defend himself.

The rift between Natasha and Akpabio began after she refused to sit in a designated seat during a Senate session, citing Order 10 of the Senate Standing Rules.

However, things escalated when she appeared on Arise News, where she accused Akpabio of blocking her motions, maligning her, and intimidating her after she allegedly rejected his sexual advances.

In response, Mrs. Akpabio held a press conference in Abuja, dismissing the allegations and insisting that both families had enjoyed a cordial relationship for years. She described Natasha’s claims as false and unfounded.

But Natasha, unwilling to let things slide, fired back with her legal letter, urging Unoma Akpabio to refrain from interfering in the matter.

“Our client believes the Senate President has the capacity to defend himself and refute these allegations. We would suggest that you leave the defense to him and focus on maintaining your sanity and that of your family,” the letter read.

Natasha further insisted that she has “concrete evidence” to support her claims, emphasizing that her stand is not just about personal justice but also about defending Nigerian women against oppression.

As this controversy continues to unfold, Nigerians are watching closely to see how the Senate President will respond and whether this political storm will escalate even further.
