Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has showered praise on Julian Alvarez after the Argentine forward netted twice in their commanding 3-0 victory over Valencia on Saturday.

Simeone commended Alvarez’s maturity, humility, and relentless work ethic, emphasizing that the 25-year-old embodies the “Atleti DNA” despite a slow start to his debut season in Spain.
“When he still couldn’t reflect with facts what we were looking for when we signed him, I said that I was sure he had Atleti’s DNA,” Simeone said.
“He has won everything at just 25—the World Cup, Champions League, Premier League—and still carries himself with humility. That makes him different from everyone else.”
Atletico’s victory temporarily lifted them to the top of LaLiga with 53 points, two ahead of Barcelona and Real Madrid, who were yet to play their weekend fixtures. Barcelona later reclaimed the lead with a 2-0 win over Las Palmas, while Real Madrid was set to face Girona on Sunday.
