For Nollywood actress, Chika Ike, there is more to being pregnant than meet the eye. Currently, she has strongly refuted claims that she is pregnant for billionaire politician Ned Nwoko, the husband of actress Regina Daniels.
The rumours gained traction on Monday after Regina deactivated her Instagram account, sparking speculations about issues in her marriage.
The gossip intensified when a controversial blog, Gistlover, hinted that a senior actress was carrying Nwoko’s child, with a little billionaire actress running from social media.
This led fans to suspect that the “little billionaire wife” mentioned was Regina.
A quick check revealed that Regina’s Instagram had indeed been deactivated, further fueling the speculation.
The rumours were later linked to Chika, who had recently announced her pregnancy.
Some social media users suggested Chika had been in a past relationship with Nwoko before his marriage to Regina Daniels.
Chika has now shut down the reports.
On Tuesday, she posted a lengthy message on Instagram titled, “FALSE! FALSE! FALSE!”
She expressed frustration over the ongoing rumours, saying, “There have been all sorts of lies paddled about me in the media for years, but I always treated them as rumors that needed no response. But this is different, this is about my CHILD.”
Chika emphasised her privacy, stating, “You all do not know anything about me! Because you CAN’T! Except I choose to disclose. Yes, I’m that PRIVATE!”
She also clarified that Nwoko was not the father of her child and reiterated, “I’m not about to be anyone’s 7th wife. Polygamy isn’t for me.”
She further explained, “I’ve been pregnant for months now, and no one had a clue about it until I made the announcement.
“Do you really think you’ll know who the father of my child is or anything happening in my life? Very laughable and clueless!”
In a final note, she declared that she was not disturbed by the rumors, saying, “My privacy is my peace, and NO ONE can unsettle me. I’m basking in the euphoria of my pregnancy, and that’s all that matters to me now.”
Meanwhile, Ned Nwoko had earlier responded to the rumours, with his director of communications issuing an official statement on Instagram, strongly denying the claims.
