Tragedy struck on Christmas Day as gunmen reportedly killed at least 11 people in multiple Attack On Benue communities in Nyiev-ya, Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State.

The attack on Benue, attributed to armed herders, left several homes burned and residents missing.

A resident, speaking anonymously, described the horrifying events, stating, “The terrorist herders came and invaded Ubutu and GSS Anwase, killing and burning houses.”

The President General of Mzough U Tiv (MUT) Worldwide, CP Iorbee Ihagh (retired), confirmed the unprovoked attack, saying, “Many are still missing. Leaders of the affected communities have reported the attack at the police station.”

The Benue State Police Command has yet to state the incident, though reports indicate that community leaders have sought urgent intervention.

Calls for swift government action are growing as residents appeal for security reinforcements to halt further violence.
