Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar expressed heartbreak over the tragic stampede at a holiday funfair in Ibadan that claimed the lives of 35 minors.

In a post on X, Atiku Abubakar reflected on the pain faced by grieving families, noting the devastating reality of children not returning home after what was meant to be a joyous outing.

“How do we tell nearly three dozen parents and wards that the children they saw off with excitement to a holiday funfair in Ibadan will not be returning home, not even late for Christmas?”

Atiku extended his prayers and condolences to the bereaved families, the injured, and the people of Oyo State. He urged for healing and comfort amid the tragedy.

Background:
The stampede, which occurred at Islamic High School in Orita Bashorun, led to the arrest of seven suspects in connection with the disaster.
