Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has issued a strong warning against piracy as she prepares to release her highly anticipated movie, Everybody Loves Jenifa, in cinemas on December 13th.
Taking to social media, the box office star urged fans to refrain from recording videos at cinemas, labeling it an act of piracy that undermines the film industry.
“SAY NO TO PIRACY!!! Recording short videos at the cinemas is piracy!!! Please stop it!!! Piracy is killing us!! I worked so hard on this project. Please, I’m pleading, do not be caught promoting piracy!!!” Funke passionately wrote.
The actress highlighted the immense effort and resources invested in her latest project, stressing the damaging effects piracy has on filmmakers.
To combat the issue, Funke Akindele assured fans that robust security measures, including the arrest of offenders, have been implemented to safeguard the movie’s release.
Fans are encouraged to support the industry by attending the movie’s premiere and ensuring ethical behavior in cinemas.
