Pep Guardiola Hints At Exit If Man City’s Slump Deepens

Pep Guardiola has made it clear he won’t hesitate to leave Manchester City if he ever feels he’s no longer helping the club.

City are going through a rough patch, losing five of their last six games—including enduring the longest losing streak of Guardiola’s career—and blowing a three-goal lead to draw against Feyenoord on Tuesday.

Despite the struggles, Guardiola, who recently extended his contract, emphasized that big clubs like City can’t afford excuses.

Pep Guardiola said. “ “When you stop winning, you’re in trouble. I know that. We can’t sit around blaming injuries or pointing fingers. It’s about taking responsibility. If I ever feel I’m no longer a positive influence for the club, I’ll step aside. But right now, I want the chance to fix this, to rebuild the team and push forward.”

Pep Guardiola admitted it’s on him to prove he can turn things around. “This is the test of a true competitor,” he explained. “It’s easy when everything is going well—winning 10 or 12 games in a row with a fully fit squad. But now, it’s time for me to find solutions, to show what I can do.”

Pep Guardiola has urged his team to focus on small steps rather than big goals. If City loses at Anfield on Sunday, it could leave them 11 points behind Liverpool.

“Right now, it’s not realistic to think about winning the Premier League,” he admitted. “The focus has to be on the next game, building momentum one step at a time.”

Pep Guardiola’s determination to rise to the challenge reflects his commitment to getting City back on track, even in the face of mounting pressure.
