The Nigerian Ambassador to Morocco, Alhaji Mansur Nuhu Bamalli, has sadly passed away at the age of 42.
According to a statement from the Media and Publicity officer of the Zazzau emirate council, he died at a private hospital in Lagos while on transit to Morocco.
Details regarding the cause of his death were not provided, and the statement mentioned that funeral arrangements would be announced later.
Ambassador Mansur Nuhu Bamalli, who was appointed to his position by President Muhammadu Buhari in the previous year, also held the title of Magajin Garin Zazzau and was the biological younger brother of the Emir of Zazzau in Kaduna. His appointment as the Nigerian Ambassador to Morocco was a recognition of his years of meritorious service in the Nigerian Foreign Service.
Before his appointment as Ambassador, he held the position of deputy director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It’s worth noting that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had issued a notice for the recall of Nigeria’s ambassadors from various foreign missions worldwide, including both career and non-career envoys.
However, the diplomats were yet to return to Nigeria due to logistical issues, including the need for Authority to Incur Expenditures (AIEs) to facilitate their return. AIEs specify the entitlements and travel arrangements for each envoy to return to Nigeria.
