On Wednesday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu sanctioned the appointment of new leadership in the fields of communications, innovation, and digital economy in Nigeria.

The official spokesperson for President Tinubu, Ajuri Ngelale, issued a statement confirming the appointment of both new and returning Chief Executives to fresh terms in various agencies operating under the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy.

The key appointments include:

  1. Aminu Maida as the EVC/CEO of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).
  2. Nkechi Egerton-Idehen as the new MD/CEO of the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT).
  3. Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, who will assume the role of DG/CEO at the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).
  4. Dr. Vincent Olatunji as the National Commissioner/CEO of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
  5. Tola Odeyemi, who has been appointed as the new Postmaster General/CEO of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST).

In addition to these appointments, President Tinubu has shown his commitment to harnessing Nigeria’s technological and digital economic potential to enhance the nation’s economic landscape with a focus on greater financial inclusion. To this end, he has approved the appointment of a new Special Adviser for himself.

Idris Alubankudi has been designated as the Special Adviser to the President on Technology and Digital Economy. These appointments are effective immediately.
