The family of music legend Innocent ‘2Baba’ Idibia has formally petitioned the Inspector General of Police, accusing his wife, Natasha Osawuru, of assault, bigamy, and financial misappropriation.
In a letter dated November 12, the Idibia family requested that police investigate multiple incidents they claim have caused the singer emotional distress, financial loss, and reputational harm.
According to the petition, reports from 2Baba and witnesses allege that Natasha physically assaulted him in both the UK and Abuja. The family also claims she accessed and transferred funds from the singer’s phone and bank accounts without authorisation and withheld personal documents, including his passport, which allegedly prevented him from fulfilling business engagements.
The petition stated that some of her actions have “exposed the music star to potential financial setbacks and public embarrassment” while raising concerns about his emotional well-being and safety. It also urged authorities to investigate possible fraudulent misrepresentation and violations of marriage laws.
The family accused Natasha of bigamy, alleging that 2Baba had not completed his divorce from Annie Macauley Idibia before Natasha began presenting herself as his wife. They said their intervention was necessary due to developments that “appear to compromise 2Baba’s personal safety, career commitments, and financial stability.”
The controversy escalated after 2Baba’s former managers, Kaka Igbokwe and Lori Tosan, appeared on Daddy Freeze’s live stream, claiming Natasha sought “full control” over his finances and career. During the session, 2Baba abruptly intervened, asking the former managers to stop discussing his private life, though off-camera shouting between him and Natasha was audible before the broadcast ended.

Reacting to the incident, 2Baba’s daughter, Hyacinth, shared lyrics from his song Diaspora Woman on her Instagram story.
Separately, Natasha, who represents Egor constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly, was recently asked to appear before the assembly’s ethics and privileges committee over her viral conduct.
2Baba has also appealed to his followers and the public to avoid escalating his marital issues, noting that doing so “is putting Natasha at risk.”
