Socialite and entrepreneur Cubana Chief Priest has called on the South-East to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, claiming that aligning politically with the President could lead to the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of IPOB.
He made the statement in response to a video showing the Igwe of Ezema Olo, Dr. Lawrence Agubuzo, appealing to Tinubu in Abuja.
In the video, the Igwe directly appealed to the President, asking him to “hear our cry” concerning the release of the detained leader.
Cubana Chief Priest posted the video on his social media account, adding a message endorsing the monarch’s intervention.
He wrote: “The message is very clear. God bless Your Royal Highness for partaking in Nigeria’s future. If His Highness had not gone to Abuja, how would Asiwaju have received this message?”
Chief Priest emphasised the significance of political alignment, urging the South-East to back President Tinubu and suggesting that such support could bring positive outcomes for the region.

He said: “We cannot fight the government. If Asiwaju frees MNK, the Igwe has already paved the way. Let’s get along with Nigeria. Tinubu won the last election without the South-East.”
“He will win again, so why not give him our votes so he can do what we ask in return? Hopefully, he will hand over power to an Igbo man.”
He also underscored Tinubu’s political influence, stating: “He has the best political structure in the country to win elections. The Igbo’s best stake is on Asiwaju. let’s think it through and not waste our votes.”
