Nigeria’s opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, has zoned the national chairman’s office to the North.
According to sources the new national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party would emerge from the north as the party had reportedly zoned the position to the region.
This was contrary to earlier reports that the party had zoned the position to the south west.
It emerged on Thursday that the party had zoned the chairmanship to the north.
Chairman of the committee and Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state announced this at the end of a meeting in Abuja on Thursday.
The party has not announced its decision on presidency, vice presidency or other executive and legislative positions.
