Popular online personality, VeryDarkMan, is under fire after alleging that ₦180 million from his NGO’s account was stolen through a hack, leaving only ₦20 million.

The revelation has sparked a wave of skepticism on social media, with users questioning the credibility of the claim.

In a widely shared video, VeryDarkMan stated, “For the past few days, I’ve not been myself. Somebody hacked into the NGO website, and I don’t know how they did it, but ₦180 million is missing.

The alleged theft comes weeks after he launched the NGO, which aims to improve Nigeria’s education sector.

The initiative garnered immense public support, with donations from both everyday Nigerians and celebrities.

Social media users have not held back, comparing the claim to infamous Nigerian scandals, including the “snake swallowed ₦36 million” incident. Some suspect the announcement is a publicity stunt to maintain relevance, while others expressed a mix of doubt and belief.

Reactions from X (formerly Twitter):

  • @divfee: “So we are babies???”
  • @michaelba_nabas: “‘Snake swallowed ₦36 million’ 🤝 ‘someone hacked into NGO website.’”
  • @Ich__Glaube: “You want to arrest the person, but you’ll upload a video first so they know you’re coming?”
  • @PrinceAbbbey: “The guy might be saying the truth, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t doubt too.”

Despite the backlash, a few supporters still rallied around him, urging others to continue contributing to the cause. VeryDarkMan’s next steps will likely determine whether he can restore public trust or face lasting damage to his reputation.
