Veteran Nigerian gospel singer Tope Alabi has shared her excitement and gratitude after becoming a grandmother, describing the arrival of her grandchild as a deeply fulfilling moment and a blessing she had long looked forward to.
Alabi announced the news in a post shared on Instagram on Friday, confirming that her daughter, Ayomikun Alabi, had welcomed her first child.
The announcement followed Ayomikun’s recent appearance displaying her baby bump in a music video alongside gospel singer BBO.
“I’m eternally grateful to God for this joyful addition to my family. Indeed Ayomiku, ayo si kun inu mi,” the singer wrote.
Reflecting on her daughter’s journey into motherhood, Alabi praised her growth and strength, saying, “My beautiful, strong girl @the_ayomikualabi_ I am so proud of the woman and mother you have become. Welcome to the world, my darling grandchild, I have dreamt of holding you for so long and now I’m showering you with kisses as I watch you grow.”
She also expressed delight in her new role, describing it as especially meaningful. “Being your grandma is my new favourite role. Big congratulations to the Bantales,” she added.
