Afropop sensation Shalipopi has announced his departure from Dapper Music, citing allegations of exploitation by the record label’s management.
In an official statement shared via Instagram, Shalipopi expressed his dissatisfaction with the label, outlining issues such as financial mismanagement, conflicts of interest, and an oppressive contract described as a “forever deal.”
The singer stated:
“I come to you today with a heavy heart. I’m officially ending my agreements with Dapper Music. I had to take this decision after my trust was broken, my finances mishandled, and my rights as an artist were disregarded. I’ve worked hard and deserve to know where my money is going. I was denied access to my money.”
Shalipopi also encouraged his fans to disengage from activities involving him and Dapper Music, emphasizing their vital support throughout his journey.
This announcement follows a similar departure by fellow artist Seyi Vibez from the same label, raising questions about its internal management practices.
Fans have rallied around Shalipopi, voicing their support and commending his bold decision to prioritize his career and artistic independence.
