Saraki Reunites With Sister, Gbemi At Mum’s Birthday

It was heartwarming to see the warring Saraki’s siblings—Bukola and Gbemisola reunite again after a long time.

Saraki sibling rivalry seems to have come to an end, after years of snubbing and the occasional snide remark.

The siblings were sighted together with other members of the family when their mum, Chief Mrs Florence Morenike Saraki, mother of former President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, clocked 86 years on Sunday, August 8, 2021.

The former Senate President’s younger sister, Senator Gbemisola Saraki, and his wife, Barrister Toyin Saraki, were some of the family members that were in Lagos to celebrate the 86th birthday of their mother.

Bukola and Gbemi aren’t in agreement politically.

At the moment, Gbemi Saraki is Minister of State for Transportation, and Bukola Saraki is rumoured to have his eyes on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential ticket.

It is on record that before his death, their father, Oloye Olusola Saraki, shifted political base with his daughter, Gbemisola, to another political platform, due to the overbearing influence of the younger Saraki.
Against the deceased Saraki’s designs and desire, Bukola threw up and supported a different candidate to succeed him in office in 2011. And while he was engaged in that political show of bravado at home in Kwara, he, aspired to the office of Nigeria’s President as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He was to lose to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar but compensated and announced as the Director-General of Atiku’s Presidential Campaign Council.
