Nigerian music talents dominated the 9th edition of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) held on Sunday night in Lagos, with Burna Boy, Rema, Yemi Alade, Shallipopi, Phyno, Qing Madi, and Chella taking home top honors.

Rema was the biggest winner of the night, securing three awards: Artiste of the Year, Best Male Artiste in Western Africa, and Best African Artiste in RnB & Soul.

Burna Boy was recognized for his album No Sign of Weakness, winning Album of the Year, while Yemi Alade received Best Soundtrack in a Movie, Series or Documentary for her track “You Are” from the animated series Iyanu.

Shallipopi also had a strong night, winning Song of the Year for “Laho” and Best African Collaboration alongside Burna Boy. Phyno earned Best African Artiste in African Hip-Hop, and rising singer Chella was named African Fans’ Favourite.

Qing Madi emerged as Most Promising Artiste of the Year, beating a competitive lineup including Cysoul, Joshua Baraka, King Luca, L’Oiseau Rare, Lwah Ndlunkulu, Massamba Amadeus, Rym, Kunmie, and Fola.
