After two months of been in jail on money laundering charges, Jude Okoye, former manager of defunct music group, Psaqure, got bail after many failed attempts.

Jude Okoye, former manager of music duo PSquare, has been released from Ikoyi Prison after spending two months in detention.

His release comes after he met the bail conditions in his ongoing trial, which involves allegations of money laundering amounting to N1.38 billion.

Peter, Paul and Jude Okoye

Jude, the elder brother to Peter and Paul Okoye, faces seven charges in the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos.

These charges include the laundering of N1.38 billion, $1 million and £34,537.59. He had pleaded not guilty when first arraigned on February 26, 2025, and was granted bail set at N100 million.

The case took a turn on March 3 when the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) filed an additional four counts against Jude.

These new charges accuse him of diverting music royalties that were meant for his brothers, Peter and Paul.

According to the prosecution, Jude is alleged to have fraudulently converted large sums of money, including $767,544.15, £34,537.59, $133,566.49 and $118,652.20, for his personal use, effectively depriving Peter of his rightful earnings.

As a result of these fresh charges, Jude was granted a second bail of N50 million, which he had initially been unable to meet.

However, on Wednesday evening, Paul Okoye shared on his Instagram that Jude had finally been released from prison. He posted videos showing his brother leaving the facility and reuniting with family members after two months behind bars.

“Jude is finally out after 2 months + all their efforts to frustrate his bail has finally collapsed. Welcome home brother @judeengees And happy birthday,” Paul wrote.

The fallout between the Okoye brothers has been ongoing for years, with tensions first rising in 2017.

This culminated in the split of their group, PSquare, and both brothers pursuing solo careers. The rift centered around the role of Jude, who served as their manager.

Though Peter and Paul briefly reconciled in November 2021, their relationship soured again in August 2024, with Paul accusing Peter of orchestrating his arrest by the EFCC.

Peter denied these allegations, instead accusing Jude of diverting millions of dollars from their joint account into a secret company. He further revealed that he had involved the EFCC after Paul allegedly told him to “do your worst” during their last conversation.
