Last weekend, the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde held the funeral service for his mother, Chief (Mrs) Abigail Omojolagbe Amope Makinde (nee Omoregie).
A laying in state held prior to the funeral service at the Cathedral of St. Peter, Aremo, Ibadan, this morning. My tribute to her was about our unique relationship and a celebration of her life. M
Taking to Instagram, the governor wrote:
“I thank everyone who came to Ibadan today to attend the funeral ceremony and honour Mama. I especially thank His Excellency, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, the Vice President, his wife, Mrs Dolapo Osinbajo and the entourage from the Presidency.
I thank my brothers, Governors Ahmadu Fintiri, Udom Emmanuel, Ifeanyi Okowa, Godwin Obaseki, John Kayode Fayemi, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Jide Sanwo-Olu, Dapo Abiodun, Rotimi Akeredolu, Gboyega Oyetola, Nyesom Wike and Aminu Tambuwal and their wives.
I also thank former governors; Senator Rashidi Ladoja, Otunba Christopher Alao-Akala, Chief Segun Oni, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and Peter Obi, and the delegation of our great party, the PDP led by our national Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus.
