The Sun Newspaper was last Thursday hit by a mass sack, with top staff of the Editorial Department affected.
According to available information, the Publisher of the newspaper and former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, was said to have embarked on the mass sack to reposition the newspaper.
Among those affected by the sack was the Deputy Managing Director, Steve Nwosu.
Three General Managers; the Editor of the Sunday title, Alhaji Fatai Oladehinde; Ikenna Emehu; Editor, Sporting Sun, John Joshua Akanji; Yinka Fabowale; and Emeka Okoroyanwu, were also affected in the mass sack.
A senior staff of the Editorial Department, Bolaji Tunji, was said to have resigned before the sack letters were handed out.
There had been no official reaction to the development as at press time.
