“Canada Can Go to Hell” – Ribadu Reacts
Speaking at the National Association of the Institute for Security Studies’ annual lecture in Abuja, Ribadu condemned the visa rejection as “disrespectful”, asserting that Nigeria must focus on strengthening itself rather than seeking foreign validation.
“Thank you for the courage to say Canada denied you visas. They can go to hell. Even though it’s painful and disrespectful, we are peaceful, we are strong… This is yet another reason we must work hard to make Nigeria work.”

General Musa revealed that he and his delegation were invited to a war veterans’ event in Canada, but while some officers received visas, others were denied, leaving the team stranded.
“This is a reminder that we must stand on our own, stand strong as a nation, and refuse to be taken for granted.”
Calls for National Strength
Ribadu’s comments have sparked discussions on Nigeria’s diplomatic relations and the need for self-reliance in global affairs.
