Nollywood actress Kemisola Apesin, popularly known as Kemity, has firmly rejected claims that she secured acting opportunities through sexual favours.
The allegations emerged amid renewed online tension involving actors Austine Emmanuel and Ibrahim ‘Itele’ Yekini. As social media users debated the feud, one commenter dragged Kemity into the controversy, alleging she had an intimate relationship with Itele and suggesting she had previously exchanged sex for movie roles.
Reacting to the claims, Kemity shared a detailed Throwback Thursday post on Instagram, using the opportunity to address the rumours and defend her reputation. She stressed that her success in Nollywood is the result of dedication, persistence, and talent, not unethical practices.
“I have never used my body to collect a movie role. I have never slept with anyone to get featured in any film. I have never exchanged sex for opportunity,” she wrote.
The actress explained that even before gaining recognition in the film industry, she was already financially independent. She disclosed that she owned two wine shops and also worked as a hotel receptionist.
“Before I even met my boss, I already had two wine shops where I was selling wine. I worked as a receptionist at Masters Hotel, Ayobo,” she stated.
Kemity also recounted her professional journey, revealing that she temporarily shifted from acting to makeup artistry before returning fully to acting due to the financial realities of filmmaking.

“From acting, to makeup, and back to acting my growth has always been step by step. Nothing was handed to me,” she added.
A mother of two daughters, Kemity said she is intentional about the values and legacy she is building. Highlighting her background, she described herself as “a child of a churchwoman” and insisted that her integrity remains intact.
“My name is clean. No one — and I mean no one — can ever come out boldly to say I used my body to collect anything from him,” she concluded.
