It has been reported that Nollywood Yoruba actress, Moji Olaiya is dead.
The late actress who was one of the daughters of music maestro, Victor Olaiya, was said to have died in Canada.
She was 42 years in February.
The actress who had a baby girl (her second) on March 17, 2017 in Canada ago, was married, divorced, gave marriage another shot but walked out because she said her 18-year-old daughter was not comfortable with it.
Moji, who cut her teeth in acting with the TV drama series, Super Story, had always been a darling of many viewers and won many awards as an actress including the City People Entertainment Awards.
However, she converted to Islam sometimes ago and tendered her reasons: “Honestly, Islam is a peaceful religion. The aspect I love most is that you don’t need any pastor to get closer to God. You don’t really need anybody to pray for you. You can always pray on your own and Almighty Allah will answer your prayer without any intermediary. I have been doing that since I became a Muslim and it has always worked for me.”
Denying her conversion to be linked to dating a rich Alhaji; she explained further, “Islam has been a religion I have always loved. I have been in-between Christianity and Islam but just recently, I decided to embrace Islam fully and there is no regret doing so.”
The deceased mother of two had a fabric store in Omole, Lagos.
9. She has won many awards as an actress including the City People Entertainment Awards.
Though cause of death has not been revealed, details will emerge later.
Her last post on Instagram was six hours ago when she announced that she was now on App Store for downloads.
She wrote:
“Hello fans, Okiki app is now on Apple App Store. Watch movies from me and other great actors for free. @okiki_app #okikiapp”
But before that she had posted two days ago, sharing a picture where she looked leaner and wrote:
“Alliamdulilahi to you Allah I give all the glory for all you have done. I will forever praise and worship you. It’s not by power but the Grace of Allah. Thank you for the gift of life. Thanks also to all my friends and family my fans for your supports and prayers. Love you all.” (sic)
