Nollywood actress Liz Anjorin has addressed the public fallout involving gospel singer Tope Alabi, following reports that Alabi turned down a performance at her surprise birthday event — despite being paid N2.5 million by organisers.
In a candid conversation, Anjorin said she has no intention of letting the incident disrupt her peace or productivity. She stressed that she holds no bitterness toward the singer. “If I see her, I’ll still kneel to greet her. That’s just who I am. I’m not about grudges,” she said.
According to sources, fans of Liz Anjorin living abroad arranged the appearance and paid Alabi, who reportedly pulled out of the performance upon discovering it was for Anjorin. The money was later refunded.
Reacting to the decision, Liz stated that she has never had any form of conflict with Tope Alabi and doesn’t understand what could have gone wrong. “I’ve attended her events before. I admire her deeply. Whatever happened is between her and her conscience,” she added.
She made it clear that the disagreement — if any — wasn’t directly with her. “It’s not my battle. The people who handled the booking are the ones she should answer to,” she said.
Efforts to get a comment from Alabi were unsuccessful, as she declined to speak on the matter.
