The 2022 World Cup in Qatar will be starting in less than 4 days with fans all over the planet waiting for the kickoff of the most prestigious football championship. World Cup is been played every four years and France are the reigning champions of the tournament having defeated Croatia in the final of the Russia 2018 edition.
The joy of every players playing professional footballer is to represent their country in the big stage, which is the world cup. Not every wish do come through. We will be revealing the big player and talent the world cup won’t be having at Qatar this year.
1. Victor Osimhen
This could have been a breakout tournament for Osimhen who has scored 36 goals in 72 games for Napoli since his arrival from Lille in the summer of 2020. But the Super Eagles failed to qualify losing the playoffs to Ghana. Qatar and Nigerians would have been happy to have him represent the country but it seems Nigeria would have to try again.
2. Mohammed Salah
Not being a participant of this year’s edition will be a slap to the Liverpool star face. He will not be happy at all. Especially when he sees Senegal on his screen as they are the main reason behind the Liverpool star staying back at home. Egypt lost to Senegal twice in a row. They lost the AFCON final and still lost the WC play off to them. Nevertheless, they will have to try again too.
3. Marco Verratti
Verratti was unable to prevent Italy from crashing out of World Cup qualifying at the hands of minnows North Macedonia.
4. Riyad Mahrez: The Manchester City star is another star who will not be in Qatar for the World Cup. Aafter Algeria’s 1-0 win in Cameroon, the north Africans were then sensationally upset in the second leg, losing 2-1 in Blida to miss out on World Cup qualification on the away-goals rule.
5. Erling Haaland:The Manchester City striker has been impressive so far this season firing goals, but his country failed to qualify for the World Cup as they ended up third in their group behind the Netherlands and Turkey
