La Liga: Valencia pulled off a shock victory over Real Madrid with a 2-1 result at the Santiago Bernabeu, throwing a wrench into the home side’s La Liga title chase.

The La Liga match saw early drama when Real Madrid earned a penalty after Kylian Mbappe was fouled in the box just 13 minutes in. But Vinicius Junior failed to convert, his weak shot easily stopped by Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Valencia took advantage of the missed opportunity almost immediately. Just two minutes later, Mouctar Diakhaby powered home a header from Diego Lopez’s corner to give the visitors a surprise lead.
Vinicius redeemed himself early in the second half, pouncing on a loose ball during a scramble in the box to level the score for Madrid.
But the night belonged to Valencia. In the dying seconds of the match, substitute Hugo Duro found the back of the net in the 95th minute, capitalising on a costly defensive error to seal the win. It marked Valencia’s first victory at the Bernabeu in over a decade.
Nigerian striker Sadiq Umar, currently on loan at Valencia, made his presence felt late in the game, playing a key role in the team’s attacking push and contributing to the decisive goal.
The defeat is a major setback for Real Madrid and gives renewed hope to rivals Barcelona as the La Liga title race tightens.
