Tolu is the wife of actor and film-maker Kunle Afolayan. The couple has been married for some years and in one of her Instagram posts, she writes an open letter to her husband.
Titled, ‘Open Letter To My Husband’
Tolu wrote:
“Love isn’t always kisses, hugs, laughter, fun & “tiibi”. It’s also compromising, accepting our unique differences and choosing the same person through it all. Love forces you to examine yourself like a mirror with honesty. Every flaw, every bad habit stares back at you and forces you to see the truth. For in love, there is no denying who you really are. Love is merely unlearning everything THEY told you love would be and having the courage to create your own LOVE story— the story that works for you because you made your choice! In another post, she shared a picture of herself and beau and captioned it:
“Nkan mi ni, e ma ba n du! (The boy is mine; Biko, leave him for me) ? || To all those calling me Ruth, I have gladly accepted and added it to my names; Tolulope Kofoworola Aduke RUTH Afolayan. Ese o! #TKARA.” (sic)
