Nollywood actress, Kemi Afolabi who has been battling with the hormonal disorder, Lupus, would now heave a sigh of relief.
She has started a series of medical procedures in the United States of America that would see to her getting a cure.
Recall that in 2021, Kemi Afolabi, a single mum of one, revealed she was diagnosed with lupus during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo. The actress also pointed out that her doctor said she has just five years to live.
Following the revelation, several celebrities such as Funke Akindele, Toyin Abraham, Mercy Aigbe, Yomi Fabiyi, Jaiye Kuti and Dayo Amusa launched a fundraiser for the actress.
In a recent post on Instagram, the 44-year-old announced that the treatment has begun.
Kemi also expressed her gratitude to everyone that supported her
“I commence my lupus treatment journey today 06/30/2022 with @hopkinsmedicine ALIHAMDULILAH Some beautiful souls made this happen, God bless you all wish me luck.”
