Lagos Governorship Election Tribunal to Announce Verdict on Sanwo-Olu’s Election on Monday

The Lagos State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal is scheduled to deliver its judgment on Monday, addressing challenges against Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s election victory.

Two candidates, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party and Olajide Adediran (commonly known as Jandor) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), separately filed petitions contesting the results of the March 18 election.

The tribunal, presided over by Justice Arum Ashom, had already heard the final written submissions from all legal representatives on August 12.

In the March election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner, with 762,134 votes.

Sanwo Olu surpassed Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, who received 312,329 votes, and Jide Adediran, who garnered 62,449 votes.
