On December 3, actress and songstress Stella Damasus decided to remember her late first husband, Jaiye Aboderin who died 19 years ago.
Stella, who is currently divorced with actress Doris Simeon’s estranged husband, Daniel Ademinokan, had two daughters for the late son of the late PUNCH publisher, Chief Olubunmi Aboderin.
According to what Kemiashefonlovehaven gathered from Stella’s Instagram page which she shared with a picture of the late Jaiye attached, she wrote that Jaiye would always be loved, and that her heart stopped beating when he died.
“19 years gone. My JAY, My Jaibad, my teddy bear, my lover, my king, husband of my youth, my knight in shining armor, my gist partner, my teacher, my padi, my heartbeat, father of my children.
My heart literally stopped when I lost you. But it had to start beating again for the sake of the girls. We all miss you so much but we are strong just like you taught us to be.
You are my angel. My lover forever. You will never be forgotten. NEVER. It doesn’t get any easier with each passing year, but I am holding on to the promise that we will meet again to part no more. I love you forever my lover. Hmmmm! It is well. Continue to rest my love. #rip”
The late Jaiye died at age 33 on December 3, 2004 while playing basketball with friends.
Obviously, his widow, Stella didn’t have a good relationship with her in-laws and had granted in an interview a few years after her husband’s death that she never knew of the popular Aboderin family until she married Jaiye.
45-year-old Damasus married her first husband, Jaiye Aboderin, in 1999.
After his death in 2004, she remarried in 2007, this time to a businessman, Emeka Nzeribe. The marriage lasted for seven months before a mutual agreement to file for a divorce.
In 2011, she became associated with multiple award-winning Nollywood producer and director Daniel Ademinokan; the couple are now divorced.
That happened in 2020 and there is no hope of reconciliation anyways.
Their relationship sparked a lot of controversy all over Nigeria and Africa because both parties never publicly admitted to be dating, engaged or even married until 2014.
Meanwhile, Daniel has settled out of court with his estranged wife, Doris on the custody of their only child, David.
Ademinokan was said to have walked out of the marriage and relocated to another state in the United States of America, where the couple lived.
Though both have been saying the union crashed due to irreconcilable differences, this is Daniel’s second time of walking out of a marriage.
