Today, July 22, would have been her 36th birthday. Sadly, Bimbo isn’t alive to witness it. She died three years ago, leaving behind her widower, Ikechukwu Ogbonna and five kids.
That late Bimbo’s sister, Folashade Samuels is celebrating her sister’s posthumous birthday today July 22, is understandable. She would always refer to her late younger sister as ‘my guidance angel.’
Taking to Instagram, Folashade posted one of late Bimbo’s dancing videos and captioned it, “my guidance angel.”
Bimbo, who was married to Ikechukwu, a businessman also known as IVD, died from burns she suffered in a fire incident in her Lagos home.
Her husband, IVD is currently engaged to Blessing Okoro aka Blessing CEO and they are preparing for their wedding.
Recall that IVD had recently cried out in an interview about the emotional pain of being separated from his five children for over three years.
During an appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast, IVD revealed that he has been unwillingly separated from his children and has not had any contact with them.
He expressed concern for their well being.
He said, “They kidnapped my five kids. I’ve not seen them till now. It’s been over three years now. I’ve not seen my kids. I don’t even know how they are doing. I do not talk to them on the phone.”
The father of five claims that his children’s maternal family has effectively cut him off from them.
Recall that IVD’s marriage to his late wife, Bimbo, ended in tragedy when she passed away in a fire incident in their Lekki home in October 2022.
The couple’s 16-year marriage was reportedly marred by domestic violence, with both parties accusing each other of various wrongdoings.
IVD was previously married to Bimbo Ogbonna, who died in October 2022 after a domestic incident that left her severely burned. She was reportedly turned away from several hospitals before being admitted. Bimbo later died, leaving behind five children after 16 years of marriage.
Shortly after the incident, Blessing CEO publicly defended IVD, claiming he was being unfairly judged.
Her outspoken support led to her arrest in 2023 on charges of cyberbullying and libel over comments directed at Bimbo’s family and others involved in the case.
The engagement with Blessing comes amid the lingering controversy surrounding IVD’s past.
