Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe has revealed that she’s still married to husband, Lanre Gentry.
While speaking in a recent interview with Legacy TV at an event, the actress declared that she’s still a Mrs. despite the highly publicised case of domestic violence that rocked her marriage which also led to separation from her spouse.
The beautiful Yoruba actress who was asked what her current relationship status is, stated boldly that she’s still married.
It is unclear whether she meant that all between herself and her estranged husband, has been forgiven or if she’s still legally bound to him, pending when they get an official divorce.
Recall that the seven-year-old union which produced a son made headlines when on Friday April 28, 2017 photos of a battered Mercy Aigbe-Gentry went viral online!
She was said to have been battered by her husband, Lanre Gentry and had suffered injuries on her face.
The actress moved out of her marriage, reported to the Anti-Domestic Violence Unit of the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and the husband was charged to court. He spent seven days at the Kirikiri prisons after which he was released on bail.
The State Government in a letter written through the Directorate of Public Prosecutions, DPP, May 22, has indicated its interest in prosecuting the alleged case of assault. The request for the case file shows Government’s resolve not to back down from the case between actress and her husband.
