Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, announced on Wednesday that he labored as a plumber around 30 years back.

He made the disclosure during the graduation ceremony for 6,252 pupils in the 18 skill acquisition camps in Lagos state.

Governor Sanwo-Olu urged youths and women to commit themselves in vocational aptitudes and come to be people who employ labor instead of depending entirely on government and companies for job vacancies.

He likewise exhorted the graduands to utilize the skills they had achieved to establish outlets for themselves to become people who employ labor.

The governor guaranteed the students who graduated of assistance, exhorted them to do everything they could do to make learning a continuous investment, by always exploring ways to enhance their skills and expand their careers.

The pupils were educated in 15 various skills, comprising cosmetology and hairdressing, hotel and catering management, barbing, computer training, bead stringing, textile design, and hat making, shoe making and leather works, dressmaking, and fashion design.

Cecilia Dada, the Commissioner for Women Affairs on Poverty Alleviation for Lagos state, announced that the graduands would collect Certificates of the Lagos State Technical and Vocational Education Board that would permit them to cross over to any State technical schools for additional training.
