The Governor of Ogun State, Governor Dapo Abiodun, has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden passing of Rt. Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga (IJAYA), fondly called IJAYA.
In a heartfelt statement, the Governor described her demise as an irreplaceable loss not only to Ogun State but to the nation at large.
Late Rt. Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga (IJAYA), who served as the Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, represented the Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency with unparalleled courage, loyalty, and dedication. She was a staunch advocate for women’s empowerment and consistently prioritized the welfare of her constituents.
Governor Abiodun extended his condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the deceased, as well as to Speaker Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen and the members of the House of Representatives.
He highlighted Rt. Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga (IJAYA) enduring contributions to public service and humanity, which he said would remain a cherished legacy.
